While digging for the latest on IE9 support, I came across this update to MOS Article ID 1307383.1:
Update December 2011:
We currently support IE9 for Standard Interactivity based applications on 8.1 and above.
We will support IE9 for High Interactivity applications on Siebel 8.1/8.2 starting with innovation pack 2012 next year (current target is September/October 2012, but this is subject to change)
So a Q3 / Q4 release for Innovation Pack 2012 and, presumably, Open UI. Here’s hoping that date doesn’t slip too far towards the end of the year. I also wonder if Open UI will introduce ‘HI’ support for non IE browsers? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Can’t wait to see OpenUI in Action
With all these things to come (dedicated Apps for Android & IOS, Siebel OpenUI, Support for IE9 etc.) this is going to be an exciting year for Siebel devs
Yes Siebel Open UI will support all browsers like chrome, safari, firefox . There will not be any need for ActiveX at that time . I have seen the demo of it in Chrome and Ipad. It works so smooth and looks greatly enhanced.
